Today I had to go for my MRI, I was very anxious as I have terrible claustrophobia - which annoys me greatly as I know it's so irrational and I am a bit of a control freak so this sort of thing does not sit well with me - I should be able to deal with it! Anyhow, I arrived at the hospital happy that one of my friends and colleagues was there to perform the scan - yet another colleague gets to see my boobs - what a treat!
Firstly a cannula was inserted into my arm to enable a contrast dye to be injected during the scan in order to see Tilly more clearly. I then had to lie face down on the bed and dangle both my breasts into a hole. Well, I say dangle - mine aren't really big enough to do that but I did manage to place them carefully into the required position! I couldn't manage in my face mask so had to trust that no Covid was hovering in the room - hardly likely as it had been cleaned to within an inch of its life - my radiographers do not mess around!
The scan wasn't painful, it's just important to keep really still to avoid blurry images. It took about half an hour to complete and pretty soon I was on my way home.
And life carries on.
